Worship

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Every Lord’s day, we worship the Lord in “the beauty of holiness” (Ps. 96). Our worship is joyful, simple and reverent. On a typical Sunday with us you’ll find yourself singing psalms and hymns, praying together, sharing needs, reading scripture, and listening to God’s word in sermon.

A typical service looks like this:

  • Announcements
  • Call to Worship
  • Hymn
  • Psalm
  • Scripture
  • Sermon
  • Prayer
  • Blessing

Our music is taken from the hymnal and our psalms are usually sung along with piano, organ or guitar. Singing, like all of our worship, is a congregational experience for all to join. After worship the fellowship continues over tea, coffee and pastries.

We have communion at least once a month, and when it’s not summer our talented handbell choir performs once or twice a month. Once a quarter we meet instead at the nursing home in Silverton.

Wallace UCC strives to be a welcoming place to everyone who walks through our doors. If you need special accommodation, or would just like to talk to someone before visiting, email us. We would love to meet you.
